Houston Web Design and Hosting, Inc. is committed to making our website usable for everyone, including people with disabilities. We build websites for a living, and we hold our own site to the same standard we recommend to our clients.

As of the date of this report, no errors were detected, and our AIM Score was 9.4 out of 10 WebAIM.org.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These are the internationally recognized guidelines for accessible web content, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Current status

Our website partially conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This means some parts of the site may not fully meet the standard yet.

What we’ve done

On October 15, 2026, we tested our main pages with automated accessibility tools and manual review, then fixed the issues we found, including:

  • Improving color contrast so text is easier to read
  • Adding descriptive labels to links and buttons, including social media icons
  • Organizing headings so screen reader users can navigate each page
  • Adding text descriptions to meaningful images
  • Making keyboard focus visible for people who navigate without a mouse
  • Labeling every field on our contact form

Known limitations

  • Customer reviews: Our Google review displays come from a third-party plugin. Some controls, like “Read more,” may not work fully with screen readers.
  • Contact form security check: Our contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA, which some assistive technologies may have trouble with. If it gets in your way, please call or email us instead.
  • Older content: Some older blog posts and linked documents may not yet meet current standards. We’re reviewing them over time.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is ongoing work. We retest our site when we make significant changes, and we review it regularly to catch new issues.
